Integrating AppsAnywhere with Jamf Pro to deliver Mac apps and more
AppsAnywhere now integrates with Jamf Pro to enable university IT to deliver Mac apps to Mac devices, alongside your existing virtualized applications.
In this video, recorded at one of our recent AppsAnywhere User Days, we explain why we've decided to integrate with Jamf Pro and what it means to university IT and students.
AppsAnywhere now integrates with Jamf Pro to enable university IT to deliver Mac apps to Mac devices, using your existing Jamf environment. Deliver Mac App Store apps, PKG packages, e-books and other policies directly through AppsAnywhere.
This means that students have just one place to go to get their software, regardless of whether they're using Windows, macOS, Chromebooks or mobile devices, giving a consistent user experience for ALL users on any device. It also means IT just have a 'single pane of glass' for managing all the university's software.

Today we're at Coventry University for the first AppsAnywhere User Day of 2018. It's just a really exciting day where we bring all of our customers together to learn and understand about the best practice in the community, and of course, the really cool new features that we've been working on at AppsAnywhere.
So we're really excited about AppsAnywhere 2.5. We've got Jamf Pro integration now, which means that all of the universities who were using Jamf to deliver their native mock-ups to mock devices can now do that through AppsAnywhere, and it just gives them the benefit of having one university apps store. It's so much easier for staff and streamers to have one place to go and one consistent experience on any device.
Integrating with Jamf allows administrators to provide everything that's available to their users through the self-service app that Jamf provides through AppsAnywhere, so policies, e-books and mock-ups or apps can all be delivered straight from AppsAnywhere now.
The policies are probably the most flexible part of Jamf Pro. They can literally be anything, and we're imagining that the most common use case will be the fact that you can deploy an app as a PKG to a device, but you can also push down the requirements to encrypt the disk. You can add items to the dock, you can install a printer, literally anything that can be scripted on a Mac can be deployed as a policy. So AppsAnywhere tries to be as flexible as possible in letting you describe what is going to happen to the user when that policy is deployed.
The other integration that we're really excited about is Parallels RAS. So Parallels RAS allows us to deliver Windows applications to non-Windows devices, and that could be MacBooks, but it could also be Chromebooks, tablets, and actually any device with an HTML5 browser.
