As National Apprenticeship Week shines a spotlight on the opportunities available to aspiring professionals, Tanisha, a 23-year-old from Leeds, shares her inspiring journey into marketing through her apprenticeship with AppsAnywhere and Apprentify.

A passion for marketing

With a degree in English Literature under her belt, Tanisha was determined to launch a career in marketing, drawn by its blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and consumer psychology.

"Marketing offers a lot of opportunities to be creative, whether it’s in campaign design, content creation, or brand strategy. It allows me to think outside the box and express ideas in new ways."

Her research into post-graduate opportunities led her to Apprentify, where she discovered the marketing apprenticeship at AppsAnywhere. The hands-on training and structured support provided the perfect foundation for her career aspirations.

A smooth and exciting start

Nearly a month into the apprenticeship, Tanisha reflects on the experience so far:

"I’ve learned a lot in the first month, and the team at AppsAnywhere could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It’s been great to have the opportunity to learn from such experienced mentors. I’m growing into my role quickly and I feel extremely accomplished in relation to my journey so far…this might be the best decision I’ve ever made!"

Setting clear boundaries between work and study means apprentices like Tanisha get the time to advance their learning and bring new skills into the work place, and it is important for employers to allow them the opportunity to put their learning into practice. This is not only beneficial to the apprentice, but also to the employer, and something that will pay dividends in the long run, since this is a multiple year commitment.

Exciting opportunities and overcoming challenges

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Tanisha is already getting involved in key industry events such as UCISA, AoC, and AppsAnywhere’s annual customer SUMMIT, where she will apply her growing expertise in event planning, budgeting, and merchandising.

Tanisha has already gained proficiency in essential marketing tools such as Webflow, Hubspot, Miro, and Asana, which are helping her plan and execute content strategies effectively. Her early achievements include publishing her first piece of copywriting on company social media—an effort that generated the highest engagement for the week. One of the biggest surprises for her has been how smoothly she has adapted to her role:

"I am surprised at how well I have been able to seamlessly slip into my new role, which would not have been possible without the expert guidance of both AppsAnywhere and Apprentify. Both teams have cheered me on and bolstered my growing confidence at every hurdle."

Advice for future apprentices

Encouraging others to consider the apprenticeship route, Tanisha shares her advice:

"My advice to anybody considering the apprenticeship route would be—just do it! The alternative could have been landing myself an entry level role in an unfamiliar industry and being left to struggle and figure things out along the way. For me, marketing is the end goal. It’s what I see myself doing as a life-long career choice, and I am determined to not just settle for being average. I intend to be the best, and I’m confident the collaborative effort of Apprentify and AppsAnywhere will get me there!"
