University of Michigan in the press with AppsAnywhere
The University of Michigan has made the press for its latest initiative: to enable university technology to be used on any device, anytime, anywhere.
The University of Michigan is taking AppsAnywhere site-wide, rolling it out to students across campus, starting in the 2017 fall semester.
The roll-out comes as part of the university's new initiative, to enable university tech to be used by students and staff wherever they are, on any device at any time. This involves "some special improvements and added features that go beyond the ordinary"; namely the site-wide deployment of AppsAnywhere, allowing students to get all their apps through its app store-like portal.

Starting the fall semester, software on Sites Windows computers and Virtual Sites will be available through a new software portal, AppsAnywhere, instead of the start menu. After launching an application from AppsAnywhere, the application will download and run on the computer as it normally would.

The university goes on to explain to students that "while launching the stream for an application may take an extra moment, the technology will position Sites to allow university-licensed applications to be used on personal devices without requiring Virtual Sites in the future. The technology also improves administration, monitoring, and control over the software" (for the full article, click here).
The University of Michigan are also using Cloudpaging, designed by Numecent and deployed by AppsAnywhere, to achieve a 100% application virtualization rate (even those large, 'tricky' apps that legacy solutions like App-V struggle to virtualize)...
This fall, we’re taking an initial step to reach our vision of making Sites applications available to users on their personally managed computers. We are excited to use a new technology called Cloudpaging to deliver applications to Sites computers.

AppsAnywhere uses Cloudpaging, the same software-on-demand service as the College of Engineering’s CAEN Lab Software Environment. CLSE software will also be available via the AppsAnywhere software portal on Campus Computing Sites computers.
